  • RESNET
Also known as the Residential Energy Services Network, provides a set of standards for their certified HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Raters to use while performing energy audits.  They have created a software program known as Ekotrope to aid HERS Raters with creating energy audits for various purposes.  Ekotrope energy audits can be used:
  • on a set of plans to create a detailed Plan Review of a home to determine if it will meet IECC requirements, Energy Star requirements, Energy Improvement Mortgages, etc.
  • on an existing home to determine the most cost effective improvements owners should make in order to reap the largest savings.

For more information you may want to review our Rescheck vs. Ekotrope  page, or if you need an Ekotrope plan review, please fill out our Items Needed list for an Ekotrope Plan Review.

  • Energy Star Version 3.2
This is another step beyond just meeting the IECC minimum requirements.  Some builders and their clients choose to surpass minimum code requirements and aim for a higher standard.  Energy Star Version 3.2 is the latest set of requirements Energy Star which builders, hvac contractors and energy raters use while working together to build Energy Star rated homes.  Additional information can be found on our Energy Star page.
